My first Breast Cancer Circle of Hope doily.
Wow, have I ever made a bunch of doilies. I think this is one of the only ones I have left around here. I made so many pineapple pattern ones that the thread actually cut into my fingers. Anymore I am afraid my eyes could not focus to work with such tiny stitches.

That is beautiful. It just amazes me how you folks can alter and make your own patterns? That is just the toughest thing for me to imagine. I just cannot fathom how to figure out the stitches to make something original? Great work and great working with that thread!

Thank you. I have a filet design program that let me copy the church pattern and place it where I wanted it then I was able to figure out the size after adding the little crosses on the sides where the wides part of the church design is. Then I just kept copying the cross until I had the border. If I had to do that on graph paper it would never get done LOL .

What the heck is a filet design program ? Never heard of such a thing? However you accomplished it - it is really good. I just try to follow patterns and even then get frustrated more often than not!

It's a computer program that lets you design that type of stuff. You can import pictures into it and make a graph to work from. I'll see if I can find a link later for the design program's site so you can read about it. I'm trying to locate a small butterfly graph right now to make the second sweater fronts pretty. First one I picked is too big

Look at that you are ready for the holiday season. Very nice your own design? or pattern? Do you have problems with the thread cutting into your fingers?

Thank you. That one is a pattern online I downloaded sometime last year and never got around to making. The thread is like yarn you have to adjust your tension to get it right. But if I work with it too long it does leave a dent in my finger LOL.

My fingers are too tough for the thread to cut me But I did smash a finger once where the thread moves over it and was so frustrated with not being able to finish my project which was almost done that I put a finger splint on it and then a bandaid to help the thread move smoothly.
I've made doilies, although not in many years. Yours are simply perfect! Beautiful! It makes me want to finish the tablecloth I started, but oh, so much work! Why did I ever start such a huge project?? I think I'll stick to doilies!

Thanks everyone. I think you should finish that table cloth!!!
As for working with the thread, you are so right it is very tedious and a real strain on these old eyes. But in the end worth it as it is fun and keeps me outta trouble.
I am working on making 6 more for our BC group.
I'm glad for the understanding, Mindy, because mean Candee thinks I should finish it!! Can you believe her??
Actually, I was just remembering that long ago I decided that the pieces (before being put together) were nice little doilies in themselves, so I started giving them away to people. I may have a couple left, but after downsizing to a much smaller place, I'm not real sure.
