I have crocheted many Christmas tree ornaments with threads. Trees, wreaths, stars, snowflakes, etc and then decorate them with sequins. I bet now they would be fun to make crocheting the beads right into the pattern? I have given mine to the kids as Steve and I seldom do a tree since we travel at the holidays. I made this Christmas Angel for my bc nurses and for my best friend who lost her dear sister to bc a few months ago. The pattern is from my friend Cylinda at Crochet Memories. I stiffenened the wings for depth and sprayed the entire piece with glitter spray, although it doesn't show in the photo. There is a skirt and attached body and then the wings and sleeve are separate as is the hailo. I stitch everything together rather than glue so it keeps forever. Lots of ends to stitch in, but worth it over time. I then stiffened some of the wings and the arm/sleeve to make them stand out. Hailo was tricky to sew on, but doable.!
