oh sounds like your new one is similar to one DH did last year. We looked at the local nurseries/hardware stores and they all had rickety arbors. I am growing wisteria on this and knew it would have to be super sturdy. He made the base with 4 x 4's  I dont think this is going anywhere for a long long time
