I recently got a hedgehog. I love him; he is very active and so friendly! He has begun to worry me though.. When he sleeps his breaths seem shallow, or at least I think they are shallow. Are they typically shallow and slow when they sleep or are they suppose to be fast? He also sneezes occasionally. They aren't sneeze fits and there is a very small amount of a watery substance when he sneezes. I just noticed it today (July 25) and I got him July 24. He might just be getting use to my house. Also I forgot to mention he is only about ten weeks old, so I am not sure if any of this would affect him. If anyone has some information or advice it would be greatly appreciated because he is awesome! Thank you!

When they sleep their metabolism slows down, so his breathing may look or seem shallow. Being a baby he has to stay warm 75F minimum. It sounds like he may have a cold, if he don't clear up in 2 or 3 days take him to the vet. Is he drinking plenty of water? Is he active when he's awake?
