It’s a good thing that I like Mondays, ‘cause there’s just too much to do today. The house was neglected all weekend in favor of outdoor and activities going on in town.

Saturday was our HUGE PTO Auction. My brain was already fried from all the paperwork involved in pulling off the Auction, and I still managed to work the 7 hours of Preview time and then also worked the 4 and a half hours of the Auction itself. This is the biggest fundraiser for our little elementary school, though, so the effort was well worth it. I don’t know how much money was raised yet, but I hope that it’s enough for the new swings for the playground.

Very early in the day we received word that one of our own Nelson children had been killed the evening before when his truck rolled over just two miles from his home. He was just 16, and a year behind Sammi in school. It was very difficult for me to be the one to tell her. It also put a bit of a pall on the rest of the day.

Sunday was busy as well. After church we attended the annual May Pole dance and watched the Morris Dancers perform. There was also a Cake walk for the little ones. Morgan won a ooey gooey chocolate cake for her daddy. She was so proud of herself! Then, Anna and I went in to town to gather up small gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week.

Sunday evening, Anna and Gregg left for an hour or so to pick up two new kittens that someone needed to find a home for. That makes six cats for us now. I wonder … will the townspeople call us the ‘Cat House on the Corner’? LOL!

Needless to say, I was showered and in bed by 8:30 last night, just too exhausted to move any longer! And, I slept all the way through until 6 am this morning. So Monday finds me well rested and ready to face the Monday List!!

I’m off to get some of the list completed now so I can get that ‘charge’ that comes when I check something off! Ta Da, ladies! It’s going to be a GOOD day!

What a wonderful picture. Norm and I thought of driving out that way but his sister and her hubby came for a visit instead. Burgers on the grill were great. We were saddened by the death of that young man and of the one in Hampstead who was killed by a falling tree. Such a shame that such young lives are gone. Hoping to hear that you fundraisers were sccessful..

Thanks Vicki. I'm afraid I didn't know either of these young men but neither was out of school yet and that's just much too young....NH is a small but sonnected state and we all grieve together when these things happen...

One of the young men was friends with my granddaughter, Sammi. Sammi stayed home from school today, even though there are grief counselors at school, because she was finding it difficult to try and ride the school bus without Matt on it.
I imagine the ride to school today was a somber one for them all.
