Haven't even started packing yet - but I did collect our $$$ today. Looks like brand new notes - or ones that have been ironed! I hope folks don't think they're forgeries!
Getting organised this weekend..hopefully! Big Grin

Julie,

Yeah Colorado! Don't let the heat scare you. It can change from one minute to the next Out West! I hope I get to meet you at some point before you board that plane to head back over the pond.

Julie, orange on lobbii is almost glowing. Pretty color.

Carol, I love that pink on aldrichii. If it is a pottsii, it got to be the prettiest pottsii.

Julie, Yellowstone National Park is breathtakingly beautiful place. And very windy. I saw it several years ago. Now a days lot of our national parks have become a bit commercialized. You will probably get whatever you need, right there at some store.
If you have a chance and time , there is avery beautiful and unique garden in Vail (Colorado)- Betty Ford Alpine Garden.

I just had lunch in Vail Alka. Didn't know about the Betty Ford Alpine Garden. My Father-in-Law was invited to landscape Vail when it was in its infancy. Would have been a much different life for my husband who grew up north of Milwaukee.

I found Yellowstone refreshingly uncommercialized when I visited there last year.

Coralee, good to know that Yellowstone is still protected from commercialization ! I still have really vivid memories of that park. I went to Niagara falls couple of years ago and there was lot more development and commercialization than I saw in early 90s.
Betty Ford Alpine Gardens is very beautiful , and refreshing. Well worth the visit. It was a preferred vacation spot for president Ford and first lady Betty Ford acc to some .
And Vail has a street...I am forgetting the name...with many shops that sell great souveniers/pottery vases etc. It was fun.

I got to stop talking about these gardens...going too far off topic...June blooms. :)

Julie...I would love to know of your impressions of our country after your trip. No, honestly! If you feel shy posting them in front of god and everyone else, you can write them to me...but I honestly would like to know... Of course, you are visiting some exceptional places and the folks who visit there tend to be interesting too... Just curious!

Have a glorious time!!!!

Carol, this isn't my first trip to the US Smiling
I was in New York (Manhattan) at the tender age of 18, coming from a very rural town, it was like nothing I had ever experienced. It was a bit wilder in those days I think, and we weren't allowed anywhere without an escort Big Grin I loved every second, and have such happy memories which feel like yesterday Lovey dubby

I've had all too brief business trips to Washington DC, and Boston. My highlight of Washington was a midnight cab trip, driving past the White House etc, before
heading to the airport for a 20 hour delay due to snowbound conditions in Boston.
My bags ended up in Philadelphia Rolling on the floor laughing Thats when I learned never to travel anywhere without a pair of clean knickers in my handbag, and a toothbrush Big Grin Big Grin

My OH has stayed in the US for up to 3 months a a time, and loved it too. However, this is our first trip together - which makes it kind of special Smiling

Not having been over for 25 odd years, I'd be delighted to let you know what I think now .....

Julie,

While I love the East Coast you will find the West to be entirely different.

There is no need to wear a tie out here....ever.... In fact I think they are banned in some places Rolling on the floor laughing
