Hoya Praetorii... It opened this morning. This is the 2nd plant of Hoya Praetorii that I originally purchased as Lasiantha. The first Lasiantha starter plant that I purchased, it was from Singapore in 2012 and it appeared to be Coriacea. And this Lasiantha appears to be Praetorii. I purchased it from US ebay seller... Although, look at the bloom color difference....
This is my 'real' Praetorii (actually purchased as Praetorii)
I didn't use a flash when I took these photos...so, the colors are what they appear...
It's very pretty. I just wanted to have one Praetorii and one Lasiantha. Maybe one day....
The yellow one didn't have much scent...very-very mild, barely noticeable....the orange one has much stronger scent ... kind of earthy mixed with sweet flower scent....
I love that orange 'praetorii' and your fragrance description . May be one day I can get a piece.
But from pictures it looks like they are same type of plant, one orange color and other yellow. Are leaves any different?
Yes, Alka, they are the same...just different bloom colors. The orange bloom plant has a little bit darker leaves, the light yellow plant has lighter green leaves...at least, that's what it looks like to me....
Will see if it's going to bloom the same next time around.
Thanks Coralee!!
Love your imperialis as well. Imperialis is my favorite.
Mine may be too young to bloom but the vine is huge, got in swap last year. I hope it blooms this year.
Name: Carol Noel Hawaii (near Hilo) It's all about choices.
Imperialis likes LOTS of fertilizer and LOTS of water when it's hot and does NOT like to be pot bound...with all those you should have no problem seeing a bloom.

May be I should fertilize more. Not pot bound and gets adequate water. Thanks for the tips.
How much light is it getting Alka ?...Mine bloomed in the winter in the greenhouse where it got very high light. In summer it gets morning sun, dappled Sun thru the middle of the day and more sun late in the day.
