First time growing from hoya seeds... I'm so excited to see them germinated.. then starting to have tiny little green leaves.. I've been looking at them several times a day ... umm..kinda crazy ...
Hoya Australis ssp. Australis
It has been raining and cold here in SF so I can't bring the pot outside yet...they will die if I do ... I think they grow a lot slower indoor ...and I'll just have to wait ... patience is the key I think ... ihihihih ...
Aaralynn,
I've started Hoya seeds indoors with great success. If you can keep them in a brightly lite location, or even better with a plant light ( you can buy single CFL plant lights and just put into a regular lamp even) they will do fine. Make sure they don't dry out, those tiny seedlings will wither in no time. If you have them covered ( which I do till they get a couple sets of leaves), open up a couple times of day to let some fresh air in.
Have fun !
Thank you for the tips MJ... I have them indoor now and yes ..i keep them moist... We have a little sunshine today to I might bring them outside for a while ... :)
Name: Carol Noel Hawaii (near Hilo) It's all about choices.
Remember that in the forest when a seed lands, and germinates, the chances of it's flourishing (my own humble opinion) is how safe does that seedling feel... Sounds like we are talking about puppies here...but plants sense if they are secure or if they are threatened.... Indirect good light, some air flow, warmth... what's not to feel secure about?
