Heard the whole sequence here today.
Bell rings and keeps ringing when the Walk sign is green.
Starts beeping when the sign starts blinking.
Solid tone when the 'Don't Walk' comes back on.

There's a new system they are trying out in some areas.
Hooked to a cell phone.
A certain tone 'rings' when you are near the crosswalk.
Different tone when you are in the crosswalk 'start zone' at the curb.
Your phone then says Walk when it's OK.
BUT the cool thing is if you step outside the crosswalk, to the right or left,
your phone reacts and guides you back in!

My Mother was blind the last 30 years of her life and I still keep up w/ the developments.
Many visually impaired members here and at DG so.....
