Hafnarfjörður, Iceland
Hafnarfjörður was an important seaport in past centuries. Fishing is still important, but other industries and commerce are also important. There is a large aluminum plant within the town limits and a large pharmaceutical company amongst other things. The town is surrounded by lavafields from an extinct volcano close by. About 25 min. away is the hot-spring area of Krísuvík.
