Sue - it's a really nice shrub. I only have one plant so I don't get any berries, you need a male and a female plant for that. I'd like another one, problem is I don't know which I already have .... . They're really pretty, never heard of them being eaten, but apparantly you can judging from the comments on DG.

This is another very pretty silver leaved shrub that's also hardy here:

Eleagnus commutata 'Skíma' which is an icelandic cultivar. Not sure what the difference is between it and the species. For some reason it's decided to grow mostly downwards instead of up ... maybe because it's too crowded....
