Dee, what do testers do? I'd love to learn more about iris. I know this was last summer, but I'd like to hear more about it when you have time. (LOL Silly me. . .I know how busy you are!)

Testers for me, is simple I send you iris that I think I will be introducing soon, you grow it take pictures, measurements and I send a form out to you to return to me.

Now one quesiton many people do not like to answer is simple if it were introduced would you buy it or not, if yes why if not why. Sometimes it it not a color you like that is OK or that you think the form style, any and all reasons I would like to hear.

Also I ask that you do not sell, trade or give away until I tell you what I would like done.

For all the time and trouble you will be allowed to keep 3 of them and return the balance to me if I introduce it .

Thank you for asking

If you ever need more testers, I recently added a new bed, and have some space where I could keep them separated and clearly labeled. I don't have any other iris in that bed. I'm zone 5a. And I'm a record-keeper by nature. LOL Just tonight, I made up new spreadsheets of my hydrangeas and clematis, so I had all their info in one place. Time to prune those clems, and I can never remember which ones are in which pruning group.

Love your iris! Spent a few hours last week browsing your site and making up a wish list. I thought I had a specific goal in mind (some really dark blackish-purple, with some white or light lavender to set them off) and ended up with more than 50 of all colors in my wish list. LOL I definitely need to narrow it down!

Do you know of any "blacks" that are rebloomers? What is your favorite black?

One of several things I am working on and one is Jet Black with big bushy white Beard or light Blue beard that Reblooms. The reblooms I am getting and the black now for them to get together this year and see what I get...

Let me think big time on RE black. Midnight Oil, Before the Storm Black is Black are several I am working with and really like the BLACK genes.

Thank you

I will put your name on the list to use next and thank you for doing a big favor

Thanks for the suggestions! I had Anvil of Darkness, Dark Passions, Dusky Challenger, Hello Darkness, and Midnight Oil all on my wish list from your site. I've narrowed my list down to 31, but still need to do a lot more cutting! Now I'll have to go look at Before the Storm and Black is Back, too. LOL

Good luck on your breeding! A reblooming black would be a big seller, I'm sure! I like the sounds of the black with the light blue beard. :)

Thanks for doing this, Denise. It's a lot of work and not all people do it.
