And I understand you are moving closer to where Zuzu lives, so I am sure she will help you cut down on purchasing, LOL.

Well I'm glad everyone else has done so will with the Lily Auction. I myself have purchased 100's of daylilies from there. I will say that most sellers are very honest, but I have been taken there too. What I'm trying to say is that I've bought daylilies that were expensive and not true to name. Of course just like the irises you purchase you don't know what you have until you get to see them bloom. I could recommend several people from the sight but I'll refrain to keep from hurting someone's feelings if I forget to mention them. Here's a few daylilies for you to enjoy this evening.Thumb of 2010-08-26/lovelyiris/dd291f Thumb of 2010-08-26/lovelyiris/23af39 Thumb of 2010-08-26/lovelyiris/9ecc82

California Sue, and everyone else. I don't know the name of that iris right off the top of my head. I do have it around here somewhere written on a photo. My main problem is that I have thousands of photos and it maybe awhile before I can find the name. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to avoid anyone. I had already written this somewhere else on here.

When I find the name I'll be more than happy to share it with you. I will also try to see if this coming bloom season 2011 if I have enough to share with others I will. Once again for some reason I want to say it had Rainbow in it's name, but I can't say that with 100% certainity.

I'll look some more and see if I can find the name. From now on I'll post the names of the plants. Unless it's my bromeliads and then it's a crap shot, I don't know very many of the names and I certainly don't put those ugly cemetery markers in the pots with them. LOL Now let me go see if I can find the name of the iris everyone is interested in.

I'm not sure but the first iris may be Easter Bonnet. I'll have to keep looking for other photos to know for sure. I'm still looking, but I think it looks very much like it on the HIPS page in the fourth photo. Let me keep looking and I'll let you know for sure when I find the photo with the name on it. Getting old is the pits. You can't remember anything. LOL

Yes, it is a historic iris. I'm going to try to post two or three of my photos of it and then see if I can do the HIPS one next to them. I'm not sure that is doable but I'll try.Thumb of 2010-08-27/lovelyiris/11005e Easter Bonnet maybe???

I think the one I posted first is a little lighter than these because it was taken in a different part of the yard that doesn't get as much sun. Hence the lighter shade in the colors. Shoot, I'm going to have to look at the first one I posted, these may not even be the same irises but I think they are and just located in different areas of my yard.

I'd say that it! Lovely! There are several varied images of it on DG too

I just added a quick entry for it in the database, as soon as either Polly or Dee release it, perhaps you can add your lovely images? Smiling

Here's the link to the database entry, so you can put in your pictures, Marian, if you would please.

By the way, Dee and I don't approve the pictures before they go in. Overwhelmingly they were right, so we just go in and check them and then change them if needed. If you need to make a change it has to be approved, but the initial entry no.

I have a question about an iris. I received an iris that is marked as

iris germancia - Eternal Bliss

I googles that name and found 2 different irises listed as Eternal Bliss.

#1. Thumb of 2010-08-27/marti/d8d85d
#2 Thumb of 2010-08-27/marti/feb7e4

Which one is the right one?

So that's #2 because I got that picture off DG's plant files, but the #1 picture I found also had the name Eternal Bliss I'll go back and double check that one.
Thanks for the help.

I would say from the description, and from the 3 pics on DG plant files, including the one from LaurieF, it is number 2.
