Polly -- if you're talkin' to me, you gotta use my whole name -- otherwise I think you're talking to someone named Mary. My name is Mary Ann -- like it was one word. Thanks. So are you saying that Blue Reflection is in there? I'll go and take another look. Every day is a second chance. Every day is precious time. |

It's in there!!! YAY!!!! ![]() Donna -- that's just an ordinary yew behind those Irises. I wasn't even thinking about background when I snapped the pictures -- but was so pleased -- the yew was all dressed up in it's Spring finery, lovely soft green needles. It did make the perfect backdrop for those beautiful blossoms. ![]() Every day is a second chance. Every day is precious time. |

Mary, what a wonderful story and a wonderful horse! Share share!! I love Shreiner Iris and have a few. My neighbor just put in at least 50, two years ago and I so enjoy them! Blue Reflection is well named. It's beautiful even before I enlarge the picture. It's a nice delicate blue. Impressionist is a very pretty color match and I too love the stripe. The curly standards are very nice! I have two no-ID's that my wonderful friend gave me. I just call them: Black Cherry ![]() ![]() A small town has no secrets except itself |

Mary Ann, I stand corrected! I love your whole name! A small town has no secrets except itself |
|

Ohhh, Sally, I love your 'Black Chery'!! |
|
|||
Thanks Sue, I rescued an iris two years ago from a spot across the road from a farmhouse. The family's name is Lord so I called it Lord's Purple. I'm pretty sure it's Black Cherry! I would love to know the real name. I'm sure they are fairly old iris. My friend never met a plant she couldn't find room for, and she always shared. She never knew the name of anything. Oh how pretty Sally -- what's prettier than a big, healthy clump of Iris? And yours has such a nice, rich color! I'm gonna try to upload a picture of my current favorite Iris -- Chasing Rainbows. I'm learning my way around a flash drive, and it's giving me fits!! ![]() ![]() Every day is a second chance. Every day is precious time. |
|

OK -- that worked. Now I'll upload a picture of the clump if I can.![]() That worked too! I'm getting better at this! ![]() Every day is a second chance. Every day is precious time. |

That one makes a beautiful clump! Pretty easy to upload once you figure it out, isn't it, and you can do multiple pictures in one post. Just don't put more than three across. Put any number you want down. |

Mary Ann, Chasing Rainbows is gorgeous! Continuing with my friend's no names. My names for these are: Bluebeard and Dusky Rose ![]() ![]() A small town has no secrets except itself |

Mary Ann, they make a beautiful clump!!! A small town has no secrets except itself |

Mary Ann that is easy as that is my DIL name as far as I am concerned she is just my daughter. D |

Sally, that one you call 'Dusky Rose', it looked familiar to me from when I was looking through historics. I am pretty sure it's Easter Bonnet, (Maxwell-Norton, 1943). What do you think? http://cubits.org/irisforum/db/ouririsdatabase/view/15415/ http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/43778/ |

Sue, that is so close that I think I'll change the name. Since the other pictures had varations, my climate might cause a few color changes too. Mine is pretty bland in color and this picture is pretty true color. I can tell by the long falls that it's an older iris. Thanks much! I love the name Easter Bonnet! ![]() A small town has no secrets except itself |

Ooh, I love clump shots! Betty |

I love Easter Bonnet! |

I added my Chasing Rainbows to the Database. ![]() Another one of my favorites is Silverado............. ![]() And here's the clump........... ![]() Every day is a second chance. Every day is precious time. |

Another lovely clump shot. You can put clump shots in the database too, you know. ![]() Personally, often I buy an iris based on a clump shot I've seen. |

Betty, Sue, anyone, can you tell me what this TBI is? This is an old photo, taken in 1984; but the iris came from the house that my Mom bough in 1977. I wish that I would have thought about taking one when we moved, but if someone can give it a name, maybe I can find another one.![]() |
