Last year, Polly...I thought maybe someone's doggie tinkled on them..but both clumps look the same. When I get off from work, I'll post a pic...

Honestly, the leaves don't look too bad, I think they either got frosted when they were up a couple of inches, or they were dry when they were up a couple of inches. Nothing to worry about, though.

But, I would like to know the variety name, as the irises themselves should be much taller than they are, unless it's a dwarf variety.

Good morning Polly! &:-)
These are English White. I've had them for years, but they've been mistreated quite a bit...I almost moved them every year for four years trying to find a good spot for them without my husband asking me to move them again....

I planted these last year and tried to mix in a bunch of top-soil..The sand out here is pretty bare of any sort of organics..
Here's few more pics. &:-)

Hmmm, not a siberian. The iris itself looks like a pseudacorus, but the leaves don't. I'm stumped.

Can anyone else help?

Polly, I had the same thought, but don't really know enough about telling the differences to mention it. Something about its growth habit had me thinking it may not be a Siberian. I'm wondering if it's one that prefers bog conditions?

Naomi, do you know it's origin?

Neil, I only know what my aunt told me several years ago that it was a Siberian. When she divided it at that time, it was fairly tall... at least two feet if I recall correctly... She also could be wrong! LOL! I thought the falls looked kind of strange compared to other Sibs... oh well.... just wondered why the leaves had yellowed... &:-) I'll probably end up giving several clumps of this away this year... behind them is a Spuria that I love.. 'Missouri Rivers' and they are shading it too much!

Anyone interested in some of these? I'm going to dig someout to make more room for either Spuria's or a Daylily... can I grow a daylily and a spuria in the same bed successfully? Actually, Polly, I owe you a few plants... or something... if you like these, I'll be more than happy to send you some!
