This is one of my SDB seedlings (parentage unknown). But I think the colors are more TB colors. Thumb of 2011-10-25/Tiganja/42cad7

This is a Siberian seedling. Again I have absolutely no idea who the parents were. None of my Siberian irises looks like this seedling. Recessive genes I suppose Confused ?Thumb of 2011-10-25/Tiganja/259bcc

SIBs have a perchance to be white or some shade of purple. I crossed a yellow with a purple (Hoping for Brown) got purple nad white. The seedling looks very nice and the standards look ruffled.

The SDB seedling is a very unusual combination and I would love to see more pics of it.

I'm not really a plic person but on the tall bearded try and get a glamor shot next spring :)

Interesting pictures. I don't know anything about siberian genetics, but there are many whites. Do you see the Tamburg siberians from Berlin? More & more SDBs are bi-colors.

Thank you all. This is another SDB seedling. I like the plicata pattern but unfortunately it has a very weak stem so I will not register it.Thumb of 2011-10-27/Tiganja/c98fbc

Bright beards are always nice. The unregistered was not plicata & I would hope it doesn't pass its poor stem on.

Sometimes good points are put in the shade with bad ones. This SDB has the color I like, but the stem is too short for the flower so just use the pollen on taller SDBs.Thumb of 2011-10-27/irisarian/262eef

The next seedling was no good at all.Thumb of 2011-10-27/irisarian/429f1a

Lucy,
the color combination is very nice. Are the two seedlings siblings?

No. the red amoena coloration is one I have been working with. Missed out last year as it rained the entire time that they were open. Next spring, she says. The seedlings are related however. the difficulty is in keeping the standards white. Some are yellow & now have to fade those.
