I am going over in a few to help my DIL get started on her first turkey, then home to dress and then I will bring the pies, the cranberry salad

Since we eat at the same time in the evening, our duck is not yet in the oven. I let John deal with it. Apple-crumb pie is from the local orchard..

It will be a small group at our Thanksgiving table tonight, but we're thankful for the ones who will sit there. And we'll look forward to sharing Christmas dinner with the ones who won't be here today.

Happy Thanksgiving to every single person in our small but discerning group, here on Cubits. ;-) Hope it's a happy day for all.
Every day is a second chance. Every day is precious time.

Peach, apple, pumpkin, banana cream, chocolate cream, mince, and a cherry cheesecake. Hope it all gets eaten. I love mince meat but 1-2 pieces a year is enough. Son, son-in-law, and grandsons will do there part in eating up the pie.

Whoa, alrighty then!

I love mince, the apple kind, not the meat kind. I make a great pie with 1/2 apples on the bottom then mince on the top.

I also prefer when the mincemeat is cut with apples. My wife had a little Italian grand mother whose joy was cooking. I mentioned one time that I liked raisin pie. We ate with them every Sunday and for several weeks there was a raisin pie for desert. It is like mince....once in a while is enough.

My pies were homecanned pumpkin pies, apple, mincemeat and the last one is for Cass only as no one else likes it including me. One year I even did the true mincemeat made with meat

Today everyone is either working or out shopping and with this cold I am not going anyplace at all as all I do is sneeze, blow nose, cough, hate getting a cold during the holidays
