I posted some photos of luminatas on the World of Irises blog today. Here's the link if you would like to see them- some are by the fabulous Margie Valenzuela.

Renee, all I can say is your garden pictures are truly beautiful, and what a wonderful blog posting. I see a few that need to go on my wish list. Smiling

For years I carried New Leaf and nothing happened and I too did have a great picture of it. I had tried many times to cross with it and keep it but nothing.

Dee -- when you say "nothing happened" -- what do you mean exactly? Did it never bloom? Never sell?

I think New Leaf likes Southern California heat. The falls can flare too much for my taste, but only in certain weather conditions. Most of the time it behaves very well here.

Thank you, all, for the kind comments.

Oh Dear, Mary Ann, I have had new leaf for years, and when I moved it this summer, I had lots of extras of it that I just threw out. I just re-planted one or two rhizomes, so it will be a while before I have more. Wish I had known, I would have sent you some with the others. The falls do flare out a bit, but it's really a pretty one. Another one I like a lot that is a luminata that has the falls flaring a bit is Flights of Fancy, one by Keppel

Then there's Moonlit Water, another Keppel Luminata that I like a lot

I think I'm gonna cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crying

I like *Flight of Fancy* too -- and am wondering if I have that one. I added a lot of new Irises this year (not intending to, if you'll remember) and don't have a handle on all of them yet.

I did add *Daughter of Stars* from Dee's PNW sale this Fall. I'm so excited to see it bloom. Your picture makes it look a lot like *Clarence* -- I hope it's different! My picture of Clarence isn't a good one.

OK -- I don't know where I got *Daughter of Stars* from, from your post Tom. Gotta lot on my mind............... Blinking

What I should have said -- and meant to say -- is that I did get *Moonlit Water* this year. And that's what I was worrying about looking too much like *Clarence*.

OK -- now that I've got THAT straightened out......................

Moonlit Water seems quite a bit different, richer color and heavier substance for starters, than Clarence to me.

Moonlit Water looks nothing like Clarence.

Mary Ann, do you know about the blog feature on here? That's where I'm keeping my incoming.

Sorry been ill and not as much, New Leaf never sold. Picture great and different ones posted. I loved it but for some reason could not get to use in hybridizing. Did not want to take either way.

Lovely iris in the garden.

Polly -- I just re-read this thread and realized I never responded to your question -- sorry.

I do not know about the blog feature here -- so I'm totally in the dark about what you mean when you say that's where you keep your incoming. Confused

Dee -- I'm glad to hear that New Leaf is a worthwhile Iris in the garden. I'm going to be patient and wait for Tom to send me some!! Thumbs up

The blog feature is on ATP. If you look at the top, you will see blogs. You can just start your own. An easy place to put things until you do something formal.
