Nice ! I planted Chirachoa Canyon last year, but it was a no-show this season...too dry to make much growth last year, altho it's growing like a weed this year! Col' Candelot was planted last year also, as a "waif", and really has done nothing! It's had a hard life tho, as the squirrels dug it up 3 or 4 times last year, and I had to move it this year when the power line fell in the bed. There is just a tiny speck of green starting to show, so maybe it will survive, after all the abuse!...Arlyn
Beautiful!! I LOVE Glad. Looks like my Sea Power isn't going to bloom again this year. Its been about 5 years since it bloomed. Nice to see a picture of it.
Tom--Thanks for the correction. The stake broke off and was hard to read. I've now corrected it to "Charged Up"--sort of close spelling-wise, though not color-wise.
Yeah, the beards on Glad are obviously the attraction. I've been a little disappointed by the flower overall, though--other than the beard the color is mediocre, and the flowers don't stay fresh-looking very long (a substance issue, I guess).
You grew my favorite, Bruneau Jasper! I love that iris, but it does not seem to do well for many people. You have the touch. I love your photo of Lights, Camera, Action. I may have to try it. Cajun Rhythm is striking in your garden. Thank you for all of the lovely photos to drool over.
Renee--Bruneau Jasper was the one I was probably most excited about, so I was very happy when it bloomed. I'm pretty sure that I don't have any kind of touch, though--just lucky. It did bloom really short and hasn't shown too much increase, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that I can nurse it along to its full glory. I was so excited about it that I pollinated a couple of the blossoms. It set pods, which I was happy to see, but I'm now worried that that wasn't such a wise move--I may be asking too much of it. Ah well.
