Look real nice, Tom! Strange how weather patterns are, I'm in a somewhat "colder" zone than you, even tho I'm quite a bit south, and I'd say my TBs are about half over! When we were at Breezeway, the IBs werejust finishing up and TBs were in bud, but no bloom. And Jerry is cleaning his beds, just a ways south of me! I'm glad we can share each others pics, here on the forums! We can really extend the season that way!!...Arlyn
Glad you like them. I'm having a strange problem. We have had so many days without sunshine, that the stalks are kind of tall and weak. They are starting to lean, these are plants that ususally don't have that problem. wierd.
I only have 3 blooms that are in beds away from the house, but loads of buds. A couple that I've been waiting on for 2 years are going to show their stuff this year, I can't wait.
Weather man said this morning that last year, this date, we were 10.3 inches of rain "behind", and THIS year, we're 12.7 AHEAD ! Weird don't hardly cover it !!....Arlyn
Beautiful, all of them. I was making mental notes of favorites but gave up when I realized that the list included everything. Thanks for giving me more bad ideas.
Thanks for the nice comments. I had several open tis morning and it was so windy, I couldn't get many good pictures, so I quit trying. Now it's still very windy, and a big storm moving in. I had to rescure a nice branch of Champagne and Strawberries. I hate that, as they colors are never as nice when they have to open inside. I braced one other stem that was falling over. Really makes me mad.
Brett, that means I'm doing my job:thumbsup:
Here's some pics of the ones I got.
Adoree - Blyth 2009 and Christmas Eve - Van Liere 2010

Yes, I'm afraid the wind has ruined most of my remaining bloom. If it ever quits blowing and raining, I'll try to prop some up, but it looks like a lot of stalks broke ..That's life , I guess!...Arlyn
Anticipation is the spice that flavors the meal! I.ve had quite a bit of bloom, and there will be SOME left. And then the rebloom season! All is not lost ! And there's always next year!....all platitudes aside...it IS kind of a bummer ...Arlyn
I am afraid to go out and look. What I could see in the dark when I took the dogs out didn't look too bad near the house. I think you had a worst storm by you Arlyn, It didn't last too long with the heavy rain, but we had a whole day of strait on winds here. Sure beat up the flowers. At least there was no hail, and we can be thankful it wasn't what they had in Oklahoma.
You are right again, Tom! It could be lot's worse If nobody's hurt and homes are not damaged...it's not too bad at all! Just looking out the window, things appear much better than I thought they would! I saw(or heard!) no sign of hail here, either...Arlyn
Similar forecast here ! I was suprised to see the iris doing as well as they are ,after our storm! I sorta' "shook ' the water from the blooms, and most are standing up again, without staking. I was complaining about this being a "short stalk" year, but I ain't now ! Only had to stake 2-3, but I'm not putting the stakes away yet! I'm taking these storms as a sign that I need to plant more medians!( as if I need an excuse !). I did notice that when an iris was laying down, it was a newer, larger, more ruffled cultivar. All the old ones seem to have stood it very well(another reason to plant more historics, as if I need one !) But I suppose to be fair in my judgement, I should plant some more of the newer "fancier' types, to give them a fair shake.(Hmmm...Plant 'em ALL, and let the strong survive !!)....Arlyn
The placement of the stalk on the rhizome can be a difference of falling over. Personal preference in TBs of for stalks 36" or lower, certainly the 2nd.
