Many of you knew I had been working on a totally hand appliqued iris quilt, will it is DONE except for the batting, backing and the machine quilting. Taken me 3 years to complete but next week will get the fabric and batting and take it in to get it finished.

Fantastic Dee! I remember when you started & knew that I could never do such a project. I never did that type of sewing. It is a masterpiece.

Thank you Lucy, this will be my last hand applique except maybe wall hangings. But from the day I saw the pattern I knew I had to do it.

That's more then a quilt, it's a total bead spread! How nice. That will be a family hierloom no doubt about it. Just amazing. I can hardly sew a button on a shirt. Hilarious!

Yes it fits a Calif King bed!

Hopefully one of kids will use it when I am gone

I would hate for it to be put in box and forgot

Someone offered me 500.00 and I had to laugh as there is more than that in the material and then the quilting forget about the labor....

Beautiful! Great job. And of course $500 would be a joke. Around here ones that are less involved go for 3-4 times that or even more.

My Wive's quilting room contains a lot of fabric and partially finished quilts. We had an unspoken understanding. She bought fabrics while I bought plants......Your quilt is priceless Dee. I hope some one in your family values what it represents.

Ohmygosh Dee -- that quilt is drop-dead gorgeous. I can't even imagine the amount of time that has gone into that. I so wish that you would enter it into the National Quilt competition right here in Paducah KY where I live. I am sure that it would win it's category. And I could tell everyone that *I know her -- the artist who made that quilt!!* Big Grin

Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

A real work of love, Dee. Beautifully done and one that people will find they cannot look away from. It does need to be displayed in a gallery for awhile for all quilters and artists to see and appreciate.

You might think I am strange, I never want to display it for others as this is a labor of love, I started it when my husband was alive and when he passed I put it away for one year. This is my family and friends in the local iris society to enjoy.

There is a big show in Sisters OR that several people have said I need to enter.

My husband would look at it each night while I worked on it...so it is for him and my family.

I know it sounds strange but I could never have people tell me all the mistakes and etc. I had handle it on my hybridizing.

I will be making my granddaughters Senior prom dress and that she can share.
