It seems that my account at All Things Plants has suddenly been cancelled with no explication from the people responsible for the site, thus I now have no possibility to connect to it to try and figure out WHY EXACTLY this has been done. Therefore, since I can still connect to Iris Cubits, I am making this announcement here. If my latest comments on All Things Plants were somehow out of line---though I don't understand how, as nothing I said was incorrect---I would appreciate an explication. All I did there was explain why I don't "contribute" MY photos to just any database; they are my property and I am the one who decides who can use them and who cannot. If someone here at Cubits can please shed a bit of light on this, I would appreciate it.
Lucy, would you mind telling me at least if you think that I said something that was out of line? I'm just trying to understand what happened and why someone would just toss me out like that with no explication.
Thanks, Mary Ann, but the fact remains that I can no longer access All Things Plants and, after having spoken with someone whose ATP account has been closed by the administrators, it appears that I am getting the same message when I try to access the ATP site---so, I must assume that my account has been "closed" by the administrators as well. I find this sort of thing quite high-handed, I must say and if I had been given the chance to do so, I would have closed my account anyway instead of hanging around and getting tossed out like that. Quite insulting, all in all.
Michele, I think I would send Dee a C-mail and ask her about it. Maybe it is just a glitch. I see that she is also one of the administrators on ATP. Wishing you the best. I can't imagine they would do that on purpose.
Oh, I can easily imagine that they would do such a thing, all I'm complaining about is not having an explication! I don't really care all that much about their site and I can't say that I have much time these days to worry about fidgeting around with my computer keyboard. It just came as something of a shock---but after all the other abuse I've experienced at the hands of various people in the "iris community", why should I be surprised.
I'd agree that c-mailing Dee would at least get you an explanation. I don't recall anything that you posted as striking me as "offensive", but, in re reading that thread, I see one post has been edited out, so, perhaps that was the issue ? I know of a case where the person "edited out" several of his posts, and that was "deemed" to be an "offensive act".
But Arlyn, since when do I not have the right to remove my own post and MY photo?? That's ridiculous. If they are that thin-skinned, then I'm much better off not going there in the first place. I'd also much rather have had the choice of closing my own account because I object to being trashed.

The adm team had nothing to do with that I have been told, I do not do much with ATP as I prefer Cubitz. I would contact the owner Michele which is Dave. Good Luck

You and Clusiana were both removed from the ATP website following a conversation with my Plants Admins. The consensus among the admins, Trish and me was that we want peace on the site and the continued presence of you two members was working against that goal.
As I am involved in that talk I would like that the Cubits members know exactly why that went on. I first sent a tree mail to warn ATP that many French irises posted in the database were wrong (not a single doubt about the French person posting who knows NOTHING about irises), spoiling the reputation of a French public garden. What I saw in the iris database was beyong my understanding. Wrong French irises, famous US impostors, irises the name of which DOES NOT EXIST AT ALL,, iris with a wrong spelling, the wrong hybridizer and so on. What's rude about asking to put the things straight??? I thought ATP should be grateful. I was wrong. I had been invited to send a 'tree mail' to a person I am having much contempt for and who is putting the mess wherever he goes.
Further to that I saw my pictures jumping up without my copyright. I could not imagine that ATP needed to get pictures of mine from the Cayeux FB page (Publication of the visitors).
When I see unacceptable mistakes about irises (confusing Plicata with a self, or red for a yellow, etc) that are APPROVED byt the 'moderators' I do not know what to think.
I take the opportunity to say that I regret the cubits database. I saw that some pictures were removed. Both Dee and Polly have been always doing a fantastic job and I have much respect fo that. I had not time to come and post the few last years, taking care of my mother who died last year. What happened with ATP gives the evidence that they are running on a one-way-road. I was very grateful to Dave for having given us the opportunity to create cubits. I really thought it was a friendly place and that discussions about any serious problem damaging the knowledge was possible. It is not. I feel sorry for the members who care for proper knowledge and are offered wrong information.
Dave if you are reading this ATP breakes the law with quoting a private correspondence received in a tree mail.
I am not embarrassed to write the above for which I have all the evidence if needed. It is really sad.
Michèle is a talented hybridizer as Dee Stewart is. How funny to see that I was the only one to post irises from Dee in the ATP database? I noticed that many people 'speak' about irises but do not 'grow any'
You and your team have decided to 'remove auxiris and my account'. OK Dave. What about my data?? Pictures? Do you remove people and keep their data?? To do GOOD pictures and to POST them takes a LOT OF TIME. If you think that someone is not good enough for you I guess that his/her work is not good enough either? So please remove them also. What I saw with the French irises in the ATP database is to me unacceptable. .
You can be proud to have removed Auxiris who is on the list for the Dykes medal!!! I guess that is the sign of the real interest in irises and about what going on in the world.
To warn people that irises are wrong is not 'correct' and worth to have the account removed but this does not raise any comment

Thank you to anyone who will let me know the missing link, or what I do not understand or your comments about what I do also myself wrong?
I do not understand either how a few days can be a 'continued presence'

I would like to thank Dave for a prompt response to Clusiana and Michele's questions. I know Dave and the team are incredibly busy with so many members not counting new members that are wondering all over the place.
I would also like to thank Clusiana and Michele for their input about irises, especially since they are experts and I will miss that.
I, personally, did not find anything offensive about your comments. If I may say so, and I may be as wrong as the inventor who thought it was time that the world had a chocolate tea pot, I think you spoke with passion and a degree of determination that is natural to your culture. We are a little laid back here and your directness and passion about what you were speaking could have been taken as a stern lecture. And although we, or rather I, could use a stern lecture from time to time it is not accepted on ATP. The reason for this is that so many of the members are novices and if they were made to feel less than anyone else they would simply go away and the world may lose a budding gardener. There will always be the newcomer that we gather into the gardening fold and guide.
I am sorry for all concerned and wish it had had a different outcome. I know you two are incredibly busy and sometimes our lack of knowledge of irises is discouraging. I guess that is why so many of the hybridizers do not post regularly if at all.... well, except Lucy and Dee. They have to be wonderfully patient and I consider Lucy a teacher as well as a hybridizer as she must continually repeat what she has said in order for the rest of us to keep on track.
I admire you both and wish you both the best and although I will not see you on ATP I hope to read your post on this site. And in the future I hope to grow some irises that began as a seed from your creative hybridizing talent.
