Put my name next to "King Tut" for about two years down the road, Dave Sticking tongue out !

they say we have some storms / rain on the way, but I'm betting everything will go south of us.....two counties to the south...farmers are losing corn to flooded fields....here they are losing corn to drought Confused

I received my "Iris Whisperer" order, today.....very nice looking plants, and some nice bonus ones thrown in, as well ! I also got two "iris buddy" boxes, so I had , altogether, about 20 to plant today Thumbs up . I really had expected to receive my Superstition order today, too (it was shipped on Monday), but, tomorrow will probably be the "day" for that.

Yup ! Superstition came about 1:00, ...and I just got done planting them ! I'd ordered 30, but one was "out of stock" at shipping time, so they "subbed" two others in it's place...and, with the "gift" rhizomes (two new intro's , among the gifts !!)I planted 38 ! 16 were "new to me", and the rest were "replacements"....and, surprisingly , 6 of the 'replacements" weren't "really" needed....those 'goners" all had put up a tiny green shoot, and, so far , at least, seem to be making decent growth Thumbs up ! But, since none of them are ones I want to NOT have, better too many, than none Sticking tongue out !Thumb of 2016-07-15/crowrita1/6d0a12

Arlyn, got you in for 2 kings-Tut and Karl.

Got my Bluebird Haven order-13 all historic ones, mostly Sass, Salbach, Cayeux. Took a bit of energy in this heat but all planted.

Salbach is new for me: Orchid Lady [$10 in 1943] and Rose Pearl [$5 in 1944]. With those prices it is a miracle that any were sold during wartime with the rationing.

I received my orders from both Bluebird Haven, and C & T iris patch, today. I've got everything ready, so I'll get out and plant, first thing in the morning. I also had word that my Breezeway order was mailed yesterday, and that there are two"iris buddy" boxes in the mail, AND I think my iris City order was to ship on the 19th, so , I'll be a planting fool (instead of "just a fool" Sticking tongue out ) for the next week !
The 20th is the day of the HIPS sale....so, I might as well add to the 'overage', I guess Rolling on the floor laughing !

I want some of the HIPS medians. I have to check how to order.

Thank you for ordering Burton irises from Winterberry.

There are some nice medians listed this year, aren't there, Lucy Thumbs up ! I'm going to *try* to hold down the number I order.......I'm running out of room !.......but I'll 'probably" go overboard, as usual ! It's such a good chance to replace some of my rarer losses. There is going to be a "rescue" that has some good medians, coming , too........so many irises....so little room Rolling on the floor laughing !
The HIPS sale, this year, is being done differently.....so a person will know almost right away if they "got" the iris they ordered....and, if you 'miss" it on the "morning round", you'll have one more chance in the "evening round".

I *should* have a couple "iris buddy" boxes, today........more 'loss replacements', mostly.

Um -- Arlyn -- when all is said and done, please make a list of the *rarer losses*. I might be able to help. Might not, but maybe might.
Every day is a second chance. Every day is precious time.

I received my "Breezeway" box , yesterday........and am debating on whether to plant them today...or wait Confused . we have several really hot days coming....REALLY hot !
I should get a couple more boxes, this week, as well....two "iris buddy" boxes, and another 'order'. I have a fairly large order from Argyle Acres , and haven't got a clue when it will arrive ! They never "advise" when they ship, so it's always a "surprise".

Arlyn, I think I would wait. The heat might really cause a set back.

I have some to plant too, but thinking I'll wait until the heat passes in a couple days, for their benefit and mine as well! Hilarious!
