|We were away since Fri so have not been out to see the garden.|
|Here's a few from yesterday.........would have had a few more, but the battery went dead ! When it was all charged, it was raining ! And when it quit rainng, the church tour was here ! I guess it wasn't my day for pictures :
|Nice pictures, Arlyn. Love the name Whoopsidaisy.|
|It's a pretty nice iris, too, Ed ! It's a "BB", by Jim Hedgecock (Comanche Acres), and received quite a bit of press. I went out to "try" to get some more pix....but the rain has pretty ell shot THAT idea ! Lots of spoiled blooms....and several broken stalks ....but I needed a few "comparison shots", and, wet or not, I got them .
MEMORIES (Henry Sass 1952 / 53)
PINK LACE (Sass Brothers 1945)
are two that look a LOT alike....differences in beard coloration is about the only thing I notice.....and the fact that "PL" always tries to rebloom.
BLACK MAGIC WOMAN after her shower ! (Tasco 2008)
Toast N' Honey (Kleinsorge 1953) was a bright spot in the rain !
VISHNU (Sturtevant 1930) if you still need this one, Tom...I *think* I'll have a chunk to share. It's a rather slow increaser, for me, but, otherwise is a nice iris.
BATIK (Ensminger 1985 / 86) is starting to "clump up", nicely ! I have two plants, of this one, and while the blooms look the same....the habits are wildly different ! one is at one end of the property, and the other is about as far away from it as it could be....a "whole city block"further north....so, maybe it's the weather, up there !
|Rain stopped, none overnight either. So sun is out allowing some weed work and some measurements and pictures, although some show some wind/rain effects:
Mme de Sevigne, Denis
|Dirt is supposed to be sending me some, but thanks.|
|I haven't checked some of these for "accurate i.d. yet, so there *may* be an imposter, or "wrong 'u" in the mix!
