More bed shots....you can see that they are ramping up !
Flavescens these are about twice as tall, as they usually are ! All the stalks seem VERY tall, this year! The peonies are "long", as well !
Just for something different...I took pix from the opposite end of the beds, this morning
here's a couple that caught my eye:
Swertii…..kinda' an ugly form on this old gal, but , that "puckered" look is the was it's supposed to be . it's quite a bit taller, this year, as well.
Lady Mohr....an arilbred….AB's really don't do well, for me, but this is one that keeps "hanging on".
You got some nice color already, and with all those buds, it won't be long before you are in full swing. I have one early peony that is starting to open, but the others are behind yours by about a week or two I'd guess.
I reaaly need to get a different camera. Mine uses an "LCD" screen for the viewfinder, and, when outside, any glare, at all, and I can't see the darn thing ! So I have to "guess", as to both focus and framing
Still no peonies, here, Tom ! You are a bit ahead , on those, this year. Maybe tomorrow, the early one will open
Copper Luster...I think !...something pulled the tag, and I found it out in the street
Ginger Treat....ya' did good, Lucy !!
Sharp Dressed Man
The gnats are absolutely horrid, this morning...no breeze, at all, and they sound like chainsaws when they get in your ears !!!
The pod parent to BB Hi Buddy has been bloomming a streak as usual. almost wish that I had registered
it. but it only has 5 buds compared to Hi Buddy's 7 so I didn't. Every year garden is inspected the guy says he 'likes the purple one.'
too late to put out at my age. tried to make a cross for DIS this afternoon. Kept tipping into into the bed which is lower than the level of the driveway & the anther broke. Will see if any success. last pumila anther in the envelope.
I've decided that I am "bone lazy" ! Did a bit of weeding, and bug swatting, this morning....gave up, and took the tractor around to pick up some piles of weeds I'd left laying.....saw a couple irises, still looking good, and snapped a couple pix....but didn't get off the tractor, to do it ! I'll post them, later....too lazy to do it, now
