I "thought" things were running late, this year (and some things are), but the irises seem right on schedule! This little pumila noid is almost always the "first in line", and it's "track record" shows:
2021 April23
2020 April20
2019 April17
2018 April 26
2017 April 11
2016 April14
2015 April 12
2014 April 20
2013 May2nd
They all look in great condition. Our daughter, Robin, took a pumila home with her. Certainly looks like 'Suslik' so perhaps we will be able to recover it.
There are lots of stalks, that's for sure ! I'm just hoping nothing, weather wise, comes along to mess them up ! My Sister (and her kids), in Denver had a bunch of snow, and from the pix they sent me, their "spring gardens" are pretty well destroyed . Stalks broken, plants "mashed down", really sad looking !
A few bed shots from this morning. The winds, and rains of the last, few days did "some" damage, but, all-in-all, not too bad! I'm "guessing" the beds are just about at 'peak" bloom.
The weeds and grass sure have been liking the rain ! I'll have my work cut out for me, when bloom is over...besides cutting a bunch of stalks, there will be tons of "weedy things" to deal with !
