I am new to this site. I have an addiction to iris, especially the beardeds. When I mention to friends that I may need an 'intervention' they all show up with wine and some rhizomes so I guess I need more interventions. Anyway, I have enjoyed reading the iris information and looking at the fabulous iris pictures. I have one little bloom stalk on SDB 'Sun Doll' left. It is in a pot so I have been bringing it in at night and putting it out during the day so it will not freeze. It will be the last of the summer bloom for me. I guess the iris that I lust after most are the dwarfs. I am growing all types of beardeds and a dozen Louisiana iris. The iris is the first blooming plant that caught my interest. I was seven years old and my interest has not waned. I only started growing the dwarfs about eight years ago. I live in central Arkansas between a Game and Fish Commission Lake and a Wildlife Preserve. Not a lot of space but I have managed to get a lot of iris in. Finding this site and reading your posts have been great.
