I used to live in San Jose, moved 3 years ago up north of San Francisco now. I only started collecting iris recently. I made note of when they started to bloom last year and noticed this year that my first ones, mostly dwarfs so far, are about 2-3 weeks weeks earlier than last year. I attribute it to the mild winter we had and early warmth.
I have seen several tall bearded in bloom around town and was down in San Jose a few days ago and saw many there too.
