| Well...actually, it started EARLIER ! I'd been watching the pumilas, as they are always the first, but, I guess I wasn't watching close enough ! Found one, partially dried up bloom, on one clump! Too "far gone" for a decent picture, but, there should be some "fresh ones", very soon !
I lost two of the pumila plants, over the winter, and while I'm not positive of the reason, I *think* I need to blame the outfit that does the lawn care, at the "house lot". I'm just guessing, but I think they may have hit them with "weed & feed" spray, last fall ! They were planted on the edge of the bed, right next to one another, so, one "slip" would have got them both ! One....my so called "park noid", isn't a big issue, as I have it in several places. The other , though (Suslik...one of John Burton's) is one I hate to lose !
