That should be a good combo for the growing mix. They love manure.

These irises are once bloomers. They should bloom for a few weeks. There are some repeat bloomers on the Japanese, and I've had repeat bloom on Anytus. But usually just once a year.

What you read was right about most areas. They don't like having water sitting over the crowns that freezes for long periods. In your area they should be OK wet over winter. Or moist would be OK, too.

You've done everything just right. So, if there's a chance they will do OK in your area, they will with what you've done.
