|I'm a grower, too, but of beardless. I transplant all year. Otherwise I would never have the time.
I grow my bearded irises in rows, and when they bloom I often move them right in bloom to the spot I want in a garden bed.
I would just suggest you move them not too late, or they might not bloom for you next year. But really, in my opinion, it's OK to move them at your convenience.
