Ever since I decided to build Mom's iris collection back to what it was in it's "hay-day", and, at the same time, build my OWN collection, I've been operating this way, Decide what plants I want in a certain area, build a bed, and fill it. This has worked pretty well, but has one big drawback. If a special sale comes along, or an offer of "for postage" iris, or a "trade", I usually have to scratch my head on "where to put it?", so ,This year I added a bed for "waifs & strays". This will save me from scattering out the iris into various corners of the yard, or veggie garden. Only drawback now, is that I didn't make it BIG enough! Rolling on the floor laughing .If I ever try my hand at hybridizing, I'll need more bed space for seedlings, too. When we decided to buy the adjoining property, it was with the intention of planting more iris, more garden, and more fruit trees, and we are well on our way to filling that up! We have about reached the limit, as far as what we are able to take care of ( we ain't gettin' no younger!), so that, along with the fact that there is no more adjoining property for sale, means that we have reached the point of....There is no such thing as extra room ! Rolling on the floor laughing ...Arlyn
