Wet Black Walnut Syrup

1 cup white sugar
1 cup of light corn syrup
1 cup of water
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups of chopped Black Walnuts

Place a large sturdy saucepan over medium heat.

Add the sugar, corn syrup and water.

Keep stirring this mixture until sugar is completely dissolved.

Add the walnuts and let the mix go back to a boil while stirring constantly. Once boiling, continuing stirring for another two minutes.

Remove mixture from heat and allow it to cool before attempting use.

Store in refrigerator or in cabinet if using sealed sterilized jars. This makes a great topping for ice cream, fresh chilled sliced fruit, pound cake or pancakes. I once made a great simple dessert from this using scoops of ricotta cheese topped with nothing else and it was a great hit!
