|Children at Play
I wonder why they jump and play?
When the day is gloomy, dark and gray.
The children laugh, they seldom cry.
They don’t notice rain clouds in the sky.
Watch the sun come out shining.
You’ll see them in the tree a climbing.
In the tree, on the branch, they celebrate joy.
Every precious little girl and “big” boy.
When the day comes to a close they hope the fun won’t end.
They beg and plead to play with their new best friend.
Mom calls out to come inside supper’s ready and waiting.
The children don’t want to eat for right now they are playing.
In the bath then off to bed,
They lay their sleepy little heads.
Their prayers are for another day.
And much more time, for them to play.
God bless the children as they play.
