| The Peaceful Valley The trees are filled with leaves so green, The hills stand tall with all their splendor. The valley holds the creek so clear, As water pours over rocks so clean. The sounds of birds chirping on the branch, The sounds of water trickling by, The quiet of the hills and valleys Makes this the peaceful ranch. No cars, no trucks, no noisy neighbors, No traffic on the way to town. No worry about the door not locked, No rushing around to do days labors. Time stands still as the day goes by, Everything seems to always get done. We never have to feel rushed at all, In this Peaceful Valley I never ask why. I know this is a gift from God, I don’t know why he gave it. I just know that he loves me so, To give me this earth with it’s green sod. I wake up in the morning to the sounds of birds singing. I go out at noon to see the cows laying down. I go out in the evening to see the deer come out to feed. At night I go to sleep with my heart filled with the love this place is bringing. I’ll never ask him why he gave this to me, I’ll never doubt his love. I will only thank him so, And at night I’ll bend a knee. I walk in trails and see the leaves on the ground, I look up above and all I see is branches o’er my head. I sit upon the bench I’ve made in the middle of the woods And all I can think of is all of the joy that I have found. No sorrow, no tears, is this Heaven? No sadness, no worries, have I died? Where am I that I could know such joy? It is the Peaceful Valley God has given. |
