This is kind of a quick version of Shepherds pie and is great when you need something fast, satisfying and stick-to-the-ribs good! Serve it over Mashed Potatoes. This would serve about 4.

1 ½ lbs of Ground Beef (I like using ground chuck for this one)
1 tablespoon of Olive or Vegetable Oil
1 large Onion diced
2 ribs of celery diced
1 clove of garlic minced
2 cups of Beef Stock
½ cup water
1 tablespoon flour
1 couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste

In a large saucepan, heat the oil and brown the Ground Meat. Add the Onions, Garlic and Celery and cook until soft and transparent. Add in the Beef Stock and Worcestershire sauce and cover and simmer on low for about 40 minutes.

In a shaker or a little blender, mix up the flour and water. Add this to the Meat mixture, constantly stirring until the gravy is thickened. Cook for another 10 minutes and add Salt and Pepper to taste if necessary. Serve over hot mashed potatoes. I like using that “Better and Bullion” beef base as it also gives the gravy some color!

It's just way too good for something so easy!
