Noodles and Cabbage!! I haven't thought about that since last winter, but now it's on my list for supper soon. I should try your recipe.

I don't do the sweet sour, but I do add either bacon pieces or small Polish sausage slices, either fresh or smoked.

Scrumptious!

Hope you liked the Pasta Fagiole Hetty.

I started putting this article together last week and while selecting the photo's I got hungry and had to go and make Noodles and Cabbage! It had been a while and I didn't have enough egg noodles on hand so I made some.

I grew up in Pittsburgh where we had a lot of ethnic neighborhoods. Some were Italian, some Irish, some Polish, etc. Though my family is German, we learned a lot of Polish and Hungarian dishes because we had so many neighbors of those nationalities.

This dish was call Halushki, but it's just noodles, cabbage, salt and pepper, and lots of butter. Love it!!!

Karen: That's exactly it! I do add a little cheese though and touch of caraway seed goes well also.

... and I don't use the 2 cloves of garlic chopped or crushed
1 large onion diced
1 stalk of celery chopped
2 tablespoons Olive oil
3 tablespoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
Handful of finely chopped Parsley
½ cup of grated Parmesan or Cheddar Cheese or
dill.

But you did it to me Kat- I have halushski cooking on the stove now. The house reeks of cabbage, it's great Hilarious!

Well Karen I'm glad it was a good suggestion! We ate till we were stuffed last night too. I had some left over pork from a roast and made a big wok full of fried rice! That is also such a good one dish meal!
