Beautiful day here today too. Wish I had felt better so I could have taken more advantage of it. Making taken a few pics. I was able to get the animals fed here at home and DH fed the other 8 horses. Really takes a load off me.

Our bridge came out of the water just before noon today. We have had several close calls since we put in the concrete deck almost a year ago (rights after the flood the first week of May) but this was its first "baptism". It was fine and didn't even collect any mud Glad to know you are OK, Cheryl.

It was a lovely day here and should be nice again tomorrow. More rain is due Sunday-Tuesday. We have had over 10.5" of rain this month, the wettest we have ever seen.

I need to get myself a rain gauge. Glad to know your bridge is secure. I know you don't want to go through that again!

None here.
Pretty, though, when it happens.

Yes, and it was very spooky-looking in the darkness of 6:45 am as I drove to work!

Thank goodness I didnt have to leave the house until 9:45 but it was still pretty thick in patches in Science Hill. It looked like we were literally going to drive right off the end of the Earth lol.

I thought about trying to grab a picture but ..the fog never looks that thick when you are in it, just when you are approaching it - or it seems to me.

It was a beautiful day here in the mountains of eastern Kentucky for the first day of Spring. Temps in the mid fifties with plenty of sunshine but I could not leave off the sweat shirt because the wind was gusting all day and made if feel too cool for comfort. I made a trip across the mountain for some wood chips and compost. The wood chips were to lay down for the dog. He is tied at the edge of the driveway in the gravel and had no comfortable place to lay other than his dog house. Now he can relax on a soft bed of old wood chips. I made two lettuce beds from two plastic bread trays lines with cardboard and filled those with the compost. I covered them both with plastic and hope they do well. I hope you all have had fine weather today.

It was beautiful here in W Kentucky as well, after an unusually harsh and long winter. The temp was about 65*F just as it has been for a week. But winter isn't finished yet, I think, no matter what the calendar tells us.
Happy Spring, Cheryl. Thanks for reviving this old thread. I hope things are going well for you and your family.

We are all doing well. Fair to Midland as I am fond of saying. I agree with you on winter not being over. I got another bed planted with carrots, chard and spinach. I covered it with plastic also. They are calling for cold temps rain. Bummer.

I drove to Louisville today to meet my son and pick up my grandson so he could spend his spring break with me. The farther east I drove, the colder it got. I still haven't thawed out from that trip.
And I haven't planted a single thing.

We're supposed to get snow flurries here tomorrow, and it's back in the 20's at night, 30's during the day. It's supposed to warm up toward the weekend again.

Low 20's here this morning but no rain and the sun has slowly made it's way over the mountain. I hope it warms up enough for me to get my blackberry Bush and my raspberry Bush planted. I bought them at Wal-Mart and I am planting them in twenty gallon tubs. I have a couple seedlings to pot up but they are inside.

Enjoy your time with your grandson. I miss my boys and my sweet little granddaughter. She is two months old now.

Yes, very much so. We really did not expect to have any more brands. The boys are soon to be 11 and 13. They are growing up too fast. Knock is taller than me now for a while but still a sweet boy. We miss them so much and pray that God will allow us to move home soon. My sweet Momma passed away a year and a half ago and Poppa lives alone. He needs me to be there with him.

We got snow off and on all day yesterday and into the night. Thankfully the ground was too warm for much of it to stick so it has not accumulated and made a mess. It is only 21 now and will barely make it above freezing today. No gardening for me. I guess I will get my fridge cleaned out.

It was a beautiful day today, but still very cool. I am afraid we'll have rain tomorrow and I'm driving Ethan to meet his dad in Louisville, so I'm hoping for only light rain. Temps should be up all across the state for the weekend,, though, even if raining.

I hope you get to go back home soon, I know that's what you want and need.
My prayers will be with you.

I hope you had a nice day for your drive and that it went well.

It was beautiful here today. Started out in the low twenties but warmed up to about sixty when the sun made it over the mountain. I was able to get a good amount of work done in the garden today.

I got my berry canes planted today and got my hanging strawberry garden about half finished.
