It was almost as old as the mountains it came from, but that pie safe held much more than pies. It held all the dreams of a little girl, and it held all the scents of her childhood.

What a wonderful thing, that the pie safe is finally with you. I know how much you will treasure it.

I have quite a few antiques inherited from relatives that have much meaning, but none are home made. How very special.

Now, what kind of pies will you put in it? You need to christen it with at least one at it's new home. PS, my favorites are raspberry and pineapple.

You're just going to have to wait till it gets cooler. There's no way I'm using my oven in this heat, not even for you. But when I do, I'll let you know. Raspberry and pineapple sound really scrumptious.
I'll add them to my winter to do list.
How's that?

In the meantime, I'll just sit and admire my empty pie safe.

Awww, and I was on my way, too. Oh well.

A scoop of ice cream on top, please.
