Thanks for the pictures Cheryl. We are fighting water now, after 8+ inches of rain over the weekend. The house is safe (DH got some mud out of the basement) but there is still about 18' of water over our bridge deck. He will row the boat out in the morning so he doesn't have to miss another day's work. I'm content to stay here. Here's our old barn, though I was focused more on the rainbow than the barn.

Animals are all high and dry. An alien dog arrived somehow last night (over high ground behind us, I presume) so resident dogs howled most of the night.
DH just left to row the boat across the lake to meet DD and get a way to work. I will be anxious until I hear he is OK. Will post again then. Websites show water is dropping upstream on both Red and KY rivers, but not sure how soon that will happen here.

Major flooding here too, and both lakes could rise another 5 feet according to those who know. I'm in no danger here, but it's all around us and some of the low county roads are underwater.
He got across OK, said the only problem was steering the boat as he is not able to look backward as flexibly as in younger days. The water was down about 4 feet when he rowed across before 9AM. I will check it again about 4PM.

At 4PM he water level was down only about a foot since this morning. Both the Kentucky and Red Rivers are below flood stage at nearest upstream gauges, but I suspect the volume of water still coming down to the confluence is more than the Kentucky can handle and that is backing up the Red into our creek for a prolonged period. I am hoping it will be down in a couple of days and we can at least see what is left of the road on the public [county] and private [our property] sides of the bridge.
The dogs are enjoying the water, though.
