Not very many girls keep their prom dresses for 50 years, but some of us do. Mine is still wrapped in tissue paper in my cedar chest, but Sally...oh just wait till you hear what she did with hers.

I'll echo what Ran and Vic said...what a touching story! I also think it's looking great as a lampshade! Smiling I'm very curious why Sally saved that dress all those years...can you tell us?

I, too, am teared up. Love you Sally and Sharon, too, for the lovely story of the prom dress.

My grandmother had 7 daughters. As a child, when we were at the family farm, we would go upstairs to one particular closet. That's where all the prom dresses were store for those 7 aunts of mine. We would try then on and pretend that we were at the "Prom". Wonderful memories of my childhood.

Now that you've mentioned, Arlene, I also loved to try my Mom's shoes when I was a child...such fun! She always kept the dressing door closed, but when she would forget it opened I was having a blast! Rolling on the floor laughing

I added a paragraph and a picture to this article tonight, both from Sally's husband, Richard. I thought you might like to see them.

My best wishes to all of you.
