They are morning glories but they bring in the good pollinators for the vegetable plants and also bring in the good insects that destroy the bad ones. My grandmother always made sure there were morning glories growing in a lot of the crops she planted, said it kept the right bugs in balance. I guess they could take over if left on their own. They stay pretty much where they are planted here and that's wherever I want them to grow up something or among my tomatoes and herbs. Most all vines will take over if not controlled.

Your bread sounds so good. If I had anybody but me to bake for I might just have to start baking bread. I used to bake when the kids were little but no more, I never have that many people to eat it. And mostly for gifts I just paint each person a card.

Cold at night and high 60s during the day, it's been a really pretty week.

I have several loaves of bread in the freezer. If it was just us it would go bad but I bring it to church and to neighbors too. Everyone seems to like it.

We had a great day at church Saturday. We cooked a meal for the community and fed 127 people. It was hard work but everyone came together and lightened the load.
And We had such a fun day together. It is amazing how the atmosphere at church has changed. Those who opposed us all left and it was as if a heavy black cloud lifted off the church. It is like the church body has been freed from oppressive bondage. Now everyone laughs and smiles. It is like everyone wants to be at church now and not like it is an obligation. People are stepping up to work who for years just sat on the pews. It is like they are glad to be a part of things now when they were not allowed to be a part before. It is amazing really. Now we are all looking forward to Christmas together. We will not get to be with our family for the holidays but it will be easier now since the church is more like a family now.

How beautiful that all sounds. Amazing how things happen. It's been a long time since you felt like you truly belonged and now with all that love around you, the sun shines brighter and those mountains are protecting you and not smothering you. You have needed this and I guess it felt like it was a long time coming.

Happy Thanksgiving from my heart!! Lovey dubby

Thank you so much. You are right. It feels like home now instead of prison. We have been invited to one friend's for dinner and another for supper. We will be stuffed but so happy.

I pray you have a wonderful day tomorrow. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving is in the books and it was very nice. We enjoyed a wonderful late lunch with friends. We felt like part of the family. I ate grouse for the first time and it was wonderful. I hope to have it again soon. We sat around and talked for a couple hours. It was great. Then we went to supper at some more friends. She had desserts to die for. Then we sat around and talked until 11pm. It was great. We laughed like crazy.

Today we layed around most of the day. Then we went to the church. I took the fall Dr operations down and pulled out the Christmas stuff while Steve put up the new tree. I got the top of the piano decorated and started on the communion table. But my stomach was not feeling well so we called it quits for the day. We will finish it tomorrow.

The hardest part of decorating at church was choosing what to use. They have accumulated so much over the years. Much of it was past being useful so I threw away two trash bags full. It turned out pretty festive and made lots of smiles. I really like smiles.

We have the restaurant secured for our banquet. It is not fancy but we are not fancy folk. We all like casual clothes and down home cooking. We will be exchanging gifts. They cannot cost more than $1 each and they have to be funny. That way it will not be a hardship and everybody can participate in the fun. You also won't have to worry about kids gifts and adults gifts. One size fits all. LOL

I had a rough day yesterday. Had a couple stomach attacks. I have had them for year now off and on. They were much more frequent when we lived in Martin County. I have only had it twice before since we moved here. I think it may be stress related. I do not know what causes it but it acts like IBS. The cramps are excruciating. I break out in a cold sweat and I have passed out on one occasion. It hurts so much nothing can touch my stomach. There are no cramps and pain today but my stomach is sore and I am weak in general. Should be fine by tomorrow.

Are you planning anything special for Christmas this year?

All of you, your entire church family will have such a great time. There is nothing better than enjoying Christmas within a church family. And everything you are telling me is full of beauty and joy. I love the gift idea too.

Have you thought of an ulcer? You've been under a world of stress for a pretty long time. I had a stomach ulcer once and it nearly killed me, and if not treated then they can be really dangerous. You might look online for things that can be done for ulcers, a lot of it has to do with the type of food you are eating, it irritates the lining of the stomach . . . the acid does. So maybe you could look online to see the symptoms of ulcers then see how changing your diet might help. I don't know, but it is an idea. Pain from an ulcer is breathtaking, totally wipes you out, but a food change could help. Going to a doctor would be better but that might not be your favorite option.
Just a thought.

Not sure about Christmas yet, not sure about the time my son and daughter have off work, so it will all depend on that. I don't have any family left except them and my brother who still lives there near you, well, in Letcher County . . . and he has a bigger family who is close to where he lives, so they will be busy with their own little family which includes small children. Lots of fun at their house. I only have my 10 year old grandson and I'll see him but not sure when or for how long. My daughter will be here part of the time too, she works not far from my house. So I won't be alone or anything, and it will be a good Christmas, it always is. Smiling

I do have peptic ulcers but this pain is different. I take daily meds for the ulcer and it works well. This pain is a lot more hard hitting and lower down.

So glad you will be enjoying a nice Christmas. Thinking of getting out tree up out of the basement soon.

We had another person give their heart to God at church tonight! God is so good!!!

It has passed for now and my stomach is fine again. Thank the Lord.

The bronchitis is another story. It is making it's rounds here and I have not escaped it. Steve is coming down with it now too.

I am feeling much better today. I have more energy but I still have a congested cough. But I believe a few more days of meds and prayer will put me right.

Had a little set back for a couple days but I think staying in and staying in bed making me worse. So I went outside today. It was in the high forties, no wind and full Sun. Really pleasant. So I piddled around and got some work done. It felt good. When the sun went behind the mountain I went back inside and worked on my tree. Steve fixed supper and it sure tasted good. Now if I can rest well tonight I will be on the road to recovery.

I surely hope you are feeling better! Maybe you've been over doing everything and needed to rest for awhile. Plus you had that stress from the church for a long time and it was only recently resolved, stress can always wear our immune systems down. I hope you can be all well for Christmas. YAyyyy for a man who can cook!

How is your weather? It is gloomy here today. I was hoping for another day like yesterday.
