Hi Dolly! Great to see you here.
The pie safes were usually made of pine, but I think this one is of different woods. Not sure, but I think so. Pine is no doubt included.

Great that you have a pie safe, too. I know of Old Washington, and was there years ago. It was a part of the Underground Railroad, if I'm not mistaken. And yes, I did know about Stowe's story sources from the area.

I'm still thinking about what I'll store in the pie safe. I just can't decide. I do have some white china, so now I'll be thinking of your suggestion. I have a couple of pitcher and bowl sets, but the depth is not such that the bowls will fit. I was thinking though, they sure would be pretty there.
