That is an awesome tree! When I lived in AZ several of us tried to grow it, most of us unsuccessfully. One of our garden buddy's did quite well until the big freeze a few years ago. You should definitely celebrate that beautiful tree!
This is my celebration for the week: made this for a friend's birthday yesterday and couldn't help but try it on. Next time I'll remember to comb my hair LOL
Name: Alma Phoenix & Cottonwood, AZ USDA zone 9b, Sunset 13 & ??
Hetty, that is a beautiful lei! Are the flowers from your yard?
Brenda, I went looking for bargains at Target yesterday. Not any to speak of, but I did get a gigantic Serrano pepper for a buck, 99 and some Victoria Blue salvia. Now to keep 'em alive.
Boo, that's always a good reason to celebrate. Good on you.

In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. – Thomas Jefferson
Brenda, it took about 200 blooms and an hour of work. But we put a Hawaiian CD on and the time flew. Plus, the house smelled so good!! These are extremely fragrant blooms.
My friend was suitably impressed
We are too dear Boo After our grand tour checking out AZ and NM it looks like we will be snowbirding in Queen Creek which means I will be pestering y'all in person in the winter months (tee hee). I do, however, have a ton of notes from all the help that you wonderful dears from SW Living/DG have given me. The only problem is that I actually don't care about the house thing which is frustrating for my true luv. I'm like: ooooooo comes with 3 bougies and a south facing yard (which we need in the winter) I'M IN! I spose I have to be more responsible about the house thing
