Living in the midwest, lighthouses are few and far between. Luckily, there are a number of lighthouses located on Lake Michigan.

This is Wind Point Lighthouse, located in Racine, Wisconsin.

Thanks for posting Cinda! I've been to the lighthouse at Holland, MI, and a few others along the eastern coast. The second picture looks familiar, but I can't place it offhand.

I think it is St Joe's but need to confirm first. There are several along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.

The Wind Point lighthouse has quite a bit of history in our family. My uncle's house adjoined the lighthouse grounds, and we've held our family reunions there for many years. We got married at the Wind Point lighthouse and lived right down the street from it. My cousin Mike was a caretaker there for many years, and then another second cousin became the caretaker. They lived in the house which you can see at the base of the lighthouse.
This isn't a great photo, but it shows the small building to the right of the lighthouse, which hold the foghorns (you can see 2 sticking out on top).

Wow, that's really neat!! I love Wind Point, and usually stop by and sit for a bit when I make my trips up to Milaeger's Nursery. The grounds are so pretty, I could see it being the perfect spot for a wedding!!

It was a beautiful day. As we were residents of the town, the price was also right- it was either free or $50 to have the wedding there, I can't remember.

I've lived in Superior for nearly 3 years now, but Saturday was the first time I've climbed over all those rocks to see the lighthouse.

I'll have to remember to get some pictures of Lighthouses on the Canal down in Canal Park in Duluth next time I'm there.

Nice picture , have you walked out to the lighthouse? Looks like rough terrain.

Well, not so much walk as climbed! Once upon a time there was a boardwalk there, but its gone now. So, yeah, it is rough. Most of it is pretty flat though.
