| This is the lighthouse on Anacapa Island, which is off of the coast of Ventura County, California and part of the Channel Islands National Park. It was built in 1932.

| It is a pretty desolate location. This lighthouse is still used and is fully automated. The foghorn goes all of the time.

Thank you. I have a Canon G9. I got it a couple years ago. I really like it except that it isn't very good for distant shots, like mountains in the distance when there is also something in the foreground or middleground that I want to capture. Maybe if I learned to use all of the manual settings instead of just the auto and semi-manual, I would do better.  Actually, the Anacapa pictures were taken with the camera a had before that, a Sony something or other. The Sony didn't have "macro" capabilities. |
