A few years ago I started buying the big plastic Christmas tree ornaments when they went on clearance after the holidays. This is the 1st one I made....

I have never seen an ornament that large! What else could be subsituted? I have heard of folks using old bowling balls. One thing I have wanted to make is the lady bugs :)

they do have the big styrofoam balls at hobby lobby but thats not trash... basket balls that are wore out. might work. what about those big giant exercise balls i have one in the attic. lol the kids played with it for a while then i got tired of it being around. that would be hilarious to have a 30'' gazing ball

Sorry, haven't been on for a while. It's just a styrofoam ball evenly covered with cement. I used liquid nails to stick on the acrylic jewels and then grouted.

I would have thought the cement would eat up the styrofoam... Whistling Learn new things everyday Thumbs up
