This was a old butcher block cart set out for bulk trash. The top had cracked in 2 and it was leaning at a 45 degree angle. My son thought I had finally lost it when I took it home. I cut some plywood for the top. Used 1/4 round base board to frame the top. New screws and paint.

Barb, Why the "Runs with scissors" name? Every time I read your name I cringe because we are always telling my grandson, "Do not run with those scissors." Hilarious!

I LOVE this. I have made sure that my friends know that my basement jelly closet is not filled with boxes of broken china, stoneware, and glass because I am a demented packrat but because someday I intend to do mosaics. I've taken care of family elders for years so my projects have not come to fruition but perhaps this year. This cubit should help.
Thumbs up Hurray! Thumbs up

Very nice Elaine, sorry you were ill...on the locker, could you perhaps do some light rag rolling technique in the same color tones as the mosaic?

Elaine: What state are you in....or what zone; can you winter these things outside or do you have to bring them in (up here, even my concrete things crack in the cold)?...You've made some really beautiful things. I have been saving all kinds of broken pottery and glass for the day I have time to start but right now, I have to bring all of my outside stuff, plants, sculpture, and lawn furniture in and in this tiny little house, I can hardly even dust in winter now. That's why I am wondering about cold durability.
