Starting on your mosaics at 5AM, wow what an addict! Rolling on the floor laughing

Was going to get started then had to take my dog to the vet. For some reason she sure likes to chew on the fox tails. I have been working so hard to get them out of the yard, but she manages to find what I missed. I do need more hours in the day if I'm going to make beautiful work like Elaine.

I've been shopping around for extra hours and find there are none on the market. Rolling on the floor laughing The only way to get any is cut down on sleep hours and found that isn't the best way.

Stopped in at Lowe's this morning to look at their small tiles for doing some mosaics. I didn't realize they were so expensive, and there are such pretty ones on the market too. I'm glad I didn't buy any, took my mini schaunzer to the vet to have some dental work done, then found out she has stones in her bladder which have to come out. The bill is outrageous so have to continue on with my dumpster diving until I get it paid for. We spend more in medical bills on our pets than on ourselves.

I do have some large tiles that my SIL gave me, guess I can break them up. They even had small stones with back netting for mosaic work and I do have a lot of them. Off to the Dollar Tree store for more, maybe if I'm lucky I'll find some small square tiles.

Pegi: I actually like broken things better in mosaic. Art must flow and too many squares don't agree with my chi.

Yes, vet fees! EGAD! and we love our'n so that we'll forego our own Drs. appts. Inky goes for his annual next week. (Not me! Hilarious! )

Did the vet not think that the stones could be dissolved with some medication? They do that with humans.

I didn't think to ask about medication to dissolve stones. Since they had to put her to sleep for the teeth I guess they thought this was the best thing. Maybe for them, but not for the pocketbook. I really like the vet and I hope she does a remarkable job on my Samantha. Did DH say maybe we should put her to sleep, I'm not very happy with him right now. D stands for DUMB

OK, going to break up the tiles I have here and work with them. I did pick up a small block of odd shape tiles at the thrift store for 65 cents and found out they cost at least $5. Going to keep my eyes open for me. Love to thrift store shop for doing crafts. When we took off all the old cermaic tiles off the kitchen counters I saved a lot of them so now I have a lot of white tiles. I had a lot of fun taking them off too, my destruction mode came out then.

HA! I gave up the DH bit years ago...you may have just cited the reason! Rolling on the floor laughing

Not valuable green and blue glass is a nice addition too. Have fun!

I have a lot of glass globs too, all different colors. I've found a lot of them at the thrift store too.

Dumb and dumber here, but when they said they would charge $100 for boarding Sami over the weekend he said that would give us more time to clean out an area for her to run for two weeks. Guess who will be doing the cleaning!! Have to keep her out of trouble for two weeks so her mouth and tummy can heal. Right now I wish I had a cemented back yard so dogs couldn't get into any of the fox tails. Confused

Sheesh! for a hundred bucks it seems you could have hired someone to do the cleaning and held Sammy in your arms until done. Best wishes for her (and you too).

Oh gosh, I don't think that far ahead! Have to take the meds. I have for her to the animal hospital so I don't have to pay for more. Well, off to do my work before it starts getting warm.

I've got a lot of extra plates, etc. that I will be breaking up. That way I'll have material for my mosaics and extra room in my cupboards. There is never enough storage space for me.

I wish I had a basement to hold my craft materials, but have an old ice box out in back that I can fill up with broken plates and tiles. But, have to find a place for the "junk" that is in there. STOP buying and use what I have, have to keep telling myself that.

Was out cleaning out area for Sami to be in when I bring her home, but have to take many breaks. I should have done most of the work when the sun was on the other side of the house. All the dirt and pine needles that blow all over is everywhere. My plan was to keep that area nice and neat, well that didn't happen. Got the shop vac out there and that sure is a help.

I was to the thrift store today, but didn't find anything I liked for doing mosaics. There was someone throwing bricks in the dumpster and I saw a pretty hanging lamp, but DH said I better use all the stuff I have now before bringing more home. I could use the colored glass in the hanging lamp for some projects. Well, there is that D for dumb again. He is right about not needing more things to work with now, but I'm not letting him know I think he is right. But, I could always use bricks around here, and it looked like most of them were in good shape.

My Sami is home now and I have to watch her for a couple weeks. The vet said she counted 14 stones in her bladder. Her teeth are so nice and white now, but the cost is so outrageous. Have to put her on a prescription diet, and of course that costs so much more than regular dog food. She is so glad to be home, got a lot of kisses when we went to pick her up.

Pegi, did they say what caused the stones in Sami's bladder? Glad she's back home.

The doctor said she doesn't know what caused the stones, but said she took 14 out of her bladder. She is getting around just fine, except for the plastic cone she has on, tries to get out the doggie door and that just doesn't work. She is eating just fine, I've got pee pads on bathroom floor just in case and glad I did.
