I love to photograph water, whether it's flowing, still, or frozen solid. Here's a waterfall on Bear Mountain, near where I live in New York.

This one is sort of abstract - it's a lake reflecting the autumnal colors of the trees surrounding it.

This one's similarly abstract; it's a reflection of the sky in a slow-moving river. I think it looks like the marbled endpapers in old books.

The photos above were taken when it was warmer, but now everything is frozen over. Here are some photos from the same waterfall...

For some reason marshes and bogs fascinate me, even when they're frozen over like this one.

I find that bogs are often home to nature's own bonsai displays.

But even in the dead of winter, not everything is frozen. Further down the Hudson River the water is too brackish to freeze, and the early sunsets cast a beautiful, shimmering glow against the reed grass. In the waning light, the blue sky still reflects off the wake left by the swans, and off the swans themselves.

Here's a mirror-image reflection of a sunken tree limb in a perfectly still swamp. It borders on the abstract, so I kinda like it.

Those are fantastic shots Mike, I like the ones with the ice, and the Swans.
This one is of a swamp, I go to, for bird watching and wildlife.

I like the ice flows I found along Hwy 914 here in KY. I had never seen these before. So much to see that's new to me in Kentucky.
